How did Work-Life Work Come About?
Hello. I'm Teaneishia N. Hunter, a Career Strategist, Corporate Trainer and the Owner of Work-Life Work Coaching and Consulting, LLC. My ultimate purpose is to integrate life into work to create triple win encounters for businesses, employees and their customers. The way in which I do that is unique to each individual and company.
The 'involved' approach that I take is what I enjoy most about what I do. Whether working with individuals or with organizations, I like to be part of your team. I believe in adding real value and providing resources for your success that will benefit you over the long-haul.
The idea of Work-Life Work came to me during my nearly 12 years of service in the United States Army. Starting my career as a combat medic, although I was successful, I realized I didn't get the same fulfillment at the end of the day that my peers, leaders and even my subordinates did. I went on a journey to begin exploring additional responsibilities that aligned me closer to what I was passionate about: career and professional development.
Yes, by the way, you read that correctly. Along with my full-time role as a combat medic, while at different times overseeing two clinics (stateside and overseas), and as a supervisor to over 30 personnel, I voluntarily sought out additional responsibilities. I'm a firm believer that up is not the only way to progress in an organization, however, the additional roles significantly contributed to my promotion when it did come. They also brought me closer to personal and professional fulfillment, while shaping me to be a better leader within my organization and community.
Though closer, it still wasn't on point. Eventually, I changed my job within the Army altogether, and I became a career counselor. Once I decided to stop "creeping" with my career, and go for what I truly wanted, Work-Life Work was born.
I am a certified coach, speaker and trainer. Work-Life Work is partnered with The John Maxwell Team where I also serve as an Executive Director. I am both a Society for Human Resources - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). I hold a master's degree in Psychology with an Industrial / Organizational emphasis.
My hobbies veer on the peaceful side of life: spas, beaches, botanical gardens, cafes and nearly anywhere scenic for catching up on reading.
